IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva reaffirmed strong support for Egypt during talks with President El-Sisi in Kenya.
Her remarks came during her speech at the 10th Annual Arab Fiscal Forum in Dubai, which saw high-level participation from finance ministers of Jordan, Libya, Lebanon, Somalia and Syria, alongside central bank governors from Bahrain, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania, Palestine, Tunisia, the UAE and Yemen.
Speaking on the sidelines of the AlUla Emerging Markets Economies Conference, which commenced in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, Georgieva highlighted that the progress made by the Egyptian government in implementing the IMF-mandated reforms is strengthening the country’s financial position.
